The tempromandibular joint is one of the most complex joints in the human body. It is home to a myriad of nerves, muscles, tendons, joints, and bones all working together. However, when any one of these parts becomes unbalanced, symptoms such as chronic headaches, neck pain, face pain, clenching, grinding, tinnitus, broken teeth, clicking/popping jaw, and other symptoms can result. Many of these symptoms can be debilitating.
We are dedicated to diagnosing and treating these force related symptoms using the TruDenta™ system. These modern, proven methods allow us to identify issues that are often missed or overlooked by other practitioners. We believe that dentistry should improve our patients lives, not just their teeth!
We May Be Able To Diagnose Your Pain
TruDenta™ treatments are painless, pleasant, and do not require us to use drugs or needles. Within 20 minutes, we can help diagnose symptoms such as:
- Headaches (chronic or irregular)
- Teeth grinding and clenching (bruxism)
- Tinnitus (ringing of the ears)
- Clicking, popping, or snapping of the jaw joints
- Muscle tension and pain in the face and neck
- Sensitive teeth due to overloaded forces
- Broken teeth or dental work
- Uneven tooth wear and cracking
- Tempromandibular joint dysfunction (TMD)
- Limited range of head and neck motion
- Reduced mouth opening range
- Accelerated bone loss in periodontal disease
- Vertigo (dizziness)
- Ear pain (not from infection)
TruDenta™ Exam and Treatment
The TruDenta™ exam includes two unique, patented technologies, which within five minutes can provide the doctor with important information about the causes of the symptoms.
The first device measures the opening and closing of the mouth and bite forces within the head, neck, and jaw. Once the scan is completed, a digital bite force analysis is provided which allows the doctor to analyze the forces on each tooth. The second device measures the range of motion within the head and neck. The device then mathematically calculates a patient’s deviance form normal motion.
After your doctor finishes the exam, the doctor may prescribe a treatment program specifically designed to meet each individual patients’ needs. This may be a program of therapy and rehabilitation that is designed to lead to lasting symptom relief. TruDenta™ treatments are always needle and drug free. A trained specialist within the office usually performs treatments. The TruDenta™ system uses technologies and techniques originally designed for sports medicine rehabilitation. Treatments usually last about 50 minutes and many patients feel immediate relief. Depending on the severity of the diagnosis, patients may need one to twelve treatments to get full treatment relief.
