When Is a CBCT Scan Used?

What's Involved in a CBCT Scan?

A CBCT scan is painless and non-invasive; the procedure is similar to an X-ray. However, the CBCT scan provides significantly more detail. You'll sit in front of the machine and may be asked to bite down on a plastic mouthpiece to ensure that your jaws remain correctly positioned. The machine will completely rotate its arm around your head to provide a 360-degree image. The results will show:

• Bone density and structure
• Joint health
• Nerve pathways and soft tissue
• Tooth and root positioning
